American Splendor

Comic Series

By the late Harvey Pekar

American Splendor is a series of underground autobiographical comic books written by the late Harvey Pekar and drawn by a variety of artists.

Pekar’s philosophy of the potential of comics is also expressed in his often repeated statement that ‘comics are words and pictures. You can do anything with words and pictures’ and he did just that , by portraying himself in those cult classic’s.

Harvey , born in Cleveland , died at the age of 70, Pekar was inspiring , his self loathing was (perhaps) his most well known trait, and thanx to Letterman he became very well known.
